Les Feldick Bible Study

What is the Law like according to Les?

The Law is described as fleshly, weak, and beggarly. It is associated with the flesh rather than the Spirit, and the works of the Law are contrasted with the hearing of faith. The question is whether one is made perfect or right with God by the flesh, which refers to the Law.

Les explains that in Galatians 3, when Paul asks, 'Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh?' the flesh refers to the Law. He says the Law was fleshly, weak, and beggarly. The Spirit is not received by the works of the Law but by the hearing of faith. So the Law cannot complete what the Spirit began, and it is set in contrast to faith.
