Les Feldick Bible Study

Who has God given His Word to?

God has placed His Word, with the leading of the Holy Spirit, into the hands of every person who wants to handle it. He did not leave it under the control of angels or highly educated seminarians. Instead, He uses common, ordinary people as human instruments to lead others to a knowledge of salvation.

Les explains that God did not leave His Word under the control or in the hands of angels, nor did He leave it in the control of highly educated seminarians. Rather, God has placed His Word, with the leading of the Holy Spirit, into the hands of every person who wants to handle it. Les teaches that for those who will be made aware of the plan of salvation, God does not send an angel or a super-educated person; He uses common, ordinary people. Les notes that he has been aware of only one or two people who claimed to come to a knowledge of the plan of salvation by simply reading the Bible by themselves. One example was a gentleman who became snowbound at about 19 in northern Canada, with nothing to do but keep his fire going and read the Bible; after that isolated winter, he came to a knowledge of salvation. Otherwise, Les says, it always takes a human instrument to lead someone to a knowledge of salvation, and in this case Philip is that human instrument.

Acts 8:30

And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
