Why is the Lamb worthy to take the scroll according to Revelation 5?

The Lamb is worthy because He was slain and redeemed people to God by His blood from every kindred, tongue, people, and nation. He prevailed as the Lion of Judah and root of David, qualified by His finished work at Calvary to open the scroll and its seals.

Les teaches that John wept because no one in Heaven or on earth could pay off the awful mortgage. The elder told him to weep not, for the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, had prevailed to open the book and loose its seven seals. Les explains that John then beheld the Lamb—the Christ, the Son God sent—and God the Son qualified because of what He accomplished at Calvary. He took the scroll from the right hand of the One on the throne. The heavenly host sang a new song: the Son is worthy to take the scroll and open its seals because He was slain and redeemed them to God by His blood out of every kindred, tongue, people, and nation, making them kings and priests who shall reign on earth. Les also notes God the Son took the mortgage and agreed to pay it off to lift or deliver the planet from the curse, which ties back to Israel's redemption laws: a next of kin had to be capable, have what it took, and be willing.

Revelation 5:9

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

Revelation 5:10

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
