What does the Lamb say when he takes the scroll from God the Father in Revelation 5?

When the Lamb takes the scroll from God the Father, He says in so many words, “I’ll pay it off.” He pays off the curse that has been on the world since Genesis 3 and Satan’s mortgage. He alone can do it because of His death, burial, resurrection, and worthiness.

Les explains that as the Lamb, the Christ, the Son of God, comes before the Ancient of Days according to Daniel and takes that mortgage from the hand of God the Father, His words are essentially, “I’ll pay it off.” What is He going to pay off? The curse the world has been under ever since Genesis chapter 3, and Satan’s mortgage. Les emphasizes that He alone can do it because of His death, burial, and resurrection, and He is worthy. Revelation 5:8–9 then shows the four creatures and twenty-four elders falling before Him with harps and singing a new song, saying He is worthy to take the scroll and open its seals because He was slain, crucified, and redeemed us to God out of every kindred, tongue, people, and nation, making us kings and priests, with the promise that we shall reign on the earth. This is why the seven years of tribulation come—Satan will have his final time.
