Les Feldick Bible Study

What responsibility do we have when God reveals truth to us?

When God reveals truth, the people to whom He reveals it become responsible to believe it and tie into it. Deuteronomy 29:29 teaches that the secret things belong to the Lord, but the revealed things belong to His people and their children forever, so they may do all the words of this law.

Les explains that God is the everlasting God, but He is also the God who keeps secrets and does not have to reveal them until He is ready in His own time. Using Deuteronomy 29:29, Les points out that the secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever. Moses spoke directly to the children of Israel, but Les says this principle is not limited to Israel. Whenever God reveals something, the people to whom He reveals it become responsible to believe it and to tie into it, that they may do all the words of this law.

Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
