How personally will we know God in eternity?
Scripture teaches that God Himself will dwell with His people, not distant but present. Though billions inhabit eternity, each believer will know God as personally as they know their own parent, and He will be their God. This is a unique characteristic of eternal life.
Les explains from the passage that the tabernacle of God is with men, and God Himself shall dwell with them; He will not be someone clear out there that we take by faith, but will be in the very present. Even though eternity is another dimension we cannot comprehend, and there will be billions upon billions of inhabitants, each of us will know God as personally as we do our own parent. Les calls that one of the uniquenesses of the eternal. The passage also says God shall wipe away all tears, and there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain, because former things are passed away. He makes all things new, even the heavens, so nothing can have been tainted by sin, whether satanic or human. The One on the throne says these words are true and faithful, and the Lord Jesus refers to Himself as the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
