How do we know we will recognize our loved ones in eternity?

Believers will recognize their loved ones in eternity because they will see them, know them, and recognize them. The proof is the Mount of Transfiguration, where Peter, James, and John knew Moses and Elijah, men who had lived about two thousand years earlier.

Les explains that although we mourn the passing of loved ones and hate death as an enemy, those with faith in the eternal future will see their loved ones again. He says we are going to see them, know them, and recognize them. His proof for recognizing loved ones in eternity is the Mount of Transfiguration. Peter, James, and John were with the Lord Jesus when Moses and Elijah suddenly appeared among them. They did not ask who these men were; they knew them, even though Moses and Elijah had lived about two thousand years earlier. Les uses this event to answer questions from his TV audience about recognition in eternity.
