Who taught the pre-tribulation and pre-millennial coming of Christ?

John Darby, an English gentleman in the mid-1800s, became the tremendous proponent of what is called the pre-tribulation and pre-millennial coming of Christ. Since Darby, thousands of tremendous theologians have embraced these things, especially as the prophetic plan comes together.

Les explains that even from the Reformation nothing was taught concerning the end time. In about the middle 1800s, John Darby, an English gentleman, became the tremendous proponent of what is called the pre-tribulation and pre-millennial coming of Christ. Earlier, Joseph Meade, whose lifetime was 1586 to 1638, began writing that Israel would go back to the land and there would be a thousand-year reign on earth. Meade was not paid much attention, but from him on more men recovered Millennialistic teaching. Since Darby, thousands of theologians have embraced these things, especially as the prophetic plan comes together, rather than saying God is all through with the Jew.
