What does Isaiah teach about the diet of wild animals in the coming day?

Isaiah foretells a coming day when wild, carnivorous, meat-eating animals will no longer eat meat but will eat the same diet cattle eat today—grass and green herb. This reflects the kingdom’s reversion to the pre-curse economy before Adam sinned, when God gave every green herb for food.

Les explains that the coming kingdom will be a reversion back to the economy before Adam sinned, before the curse came in. He points to Isaiah’s statement that the day is coming when wild, carnivorous, meat-eating animals will eat the same diet cattle do today—grass and so on. He then compares this with Genesis chapter 1, where God gave every herb bearing seed, every tree yielding seed, and every green herb for food to Adam, Eve, the beasts of the earth, the fowl of the air, and everything that creepeth upon the earth. In verse 29 the King James word “meat” should be understood as “food.”
