What does Genesis 9:3 say about what humans can eat?

Genesis 9:3 states that every moving thing that lives shall be food for humans, just as the green herb was given. This new post-flood instruction permits eating meat, but with the stipulation that flesh with its lifeblood is not to be eaten.

Les teaches that after Noah came off the ark following the flood, God gave new instructions permitting humans to kill living things and eat their meat, with stipulations. Genesis 9:3 says every moving thing that lives shall be food, just as the green herb was given in Genesis 1. However, flesh with its lifeblood must not be eaten, because the life is in the blood. This principle applies to all living creatures—animals, birds, and humans—for the blood is the actual source of life that keeps the creature functioning.

Genesis 9:3

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
