What will carnivorous animals eat in the coming day according to Isaiah?
In the coming day, Isaiah foretells that wild, carnivorous, meat-eating animals will eat the same diet cattle eat today—grass and similar vegetation. This matches the original economy before Adam sinned and before the curse, when God gave every green herb as food to the beasts of the earth.
Les explains that the kingdom will be a reversion back to the economy before Adam sinned and before the curse came in. He points to Isaiah's statement that the day is coming when wild, carnivorous, meat-eating animals will eat the same diet cattle do today—they will eat grass and so on. To illustrate, Les compares this with Genesis chapter 1. In verse 28 God tells Adam to be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, and everything that lives and moves on the earth. In verse 29 God gives Adam, Eve, and the human race every herb bearing seed and every tree whose fruit yields seed for food; the King James says "meat," but the word should be "food." Then verse 30 extends this to every beast of the earth, including lions and tigers, every fowl of the air, and everything that creeps on the earth wherein there is life: God has given every green herb for food, and it was so. Les asks, "Isn't that plain?"
