What will the lion eat in the coming kingdom?
In the coming kingdom, when the curse is lifted, the lion will eat straw, grass, or forage just as the cow does today. Predators and prey will pasture and feed together, and there will be nothing to harm or destroy in God's holy mountain, because the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord.
Les teaches that the coming kingdom reverses the conditions of the curse. In the present world, leopards, cheetahs, and lions pick on the young of other species, such as baby deer or baby zebra, because they cannot keep up. But when the curse is lifted, the leopard lies down with the kid, and the calf, young lion, and fatling pasture together. A little child leads them, and mothers do not need to worry. The cow and the bear feed together, and their young lie down together. The lion will eat straw, grass, or forage just like the cow does today. Even a nursing child can play safely at the hole of the poisonous asp, and a weaned child can put his hand on a cockatrice's den without fear. In God's holy mountain they shall not hurt nor destroy, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
