According to Isaiah, what will lions and other wild animals eat in the coming kingdom?
According to Isaiah, the coming kingdom will restore the pre-curse condition, so wild, carnivorous, meat-eating animals will no longer eat flesh. Lions and other beasts will eat the same diet cattle eat today, grazing on grass and green herbage, as God originally gave every green herb for food.
Les teaches that the kingdom will be a reversion back to the economy before Adam sinned, before the curse came in. He points back to Genesis chapter 1 for the comparison. Isaiah says the day is coming when wild, carnivorous, meat-eating animals are going to eat the same diet that cattle do today—they will eat grass and so on. In Genesis 1:30, God says that to every beast of the earth, including lions and tigers and everything else, to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creeps upon the earth wherein there is life, He has given every green herb for food, and it was so.
