Where is Daniel's soul between his death and the resurrection?
Daniel's soul is in the presence of the Lord, however it is, while his body rests in the grave. The prophecy tells him to rest until the end, then he will stand in his lot at the resurrection. This is the stated position between death and resurrection.
Les explains that Daniel 12:13 tells Daniel to go his way until the end, and that he shall rest—that is, in the grave—while his soul is in the presence of the Lord, however it is. Daniel is also told he shall stand in his lot. Les connects the word "lot" to the New Testament word "order," meaning the just are resurrected in their particular lot or order, not all simultaneously but at separate times. So between death and resurrection, Daniel's soul is with the Lord, and his body rests until he stands in his lot.
But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
