What happened to Jesus' soul and spirit during the three hours of darkness?

During the three hours of darkness, Jesus remained alive with His body hanging on the cross, but in soul and spirit He stepped out of time into eternity and suffered the punishment for all mankind’s sin. He becomes the scapegoat, sent into the wilderness.

Les explains that during those three hours between noon and three, there was darkness and total silence, with not a word from the cross. He notes the scapegoat was left alive and asks whether Jesus is still alive then; in his view, Jesus becomes the scapegoat, which was sent into the wilderness. Les says he may be wrong, but offers it as food for thought: as the body hung on the cross, in soul and spirit Jesus stepped out of time into eternity and suffered the punishment for all mankind’s sin.
