What will believers do during the millennial kingdom?
Believers will reign with Christ for a thousand years, exercising activity and responsibility rather than idle leisure. They will sit on thrones, rule, and be given meaningful work, receiving compensation for their labor in this life through active service in God's earthly kingdom.
Les teaches that people are made to be active, using the illustration that after a two-week vacation most want to get back to work. He says this desire carries over into the kingdom. Believers will not sit on a cloud and strum a harp with nothing to do; God will give them tremendous responsibility and activity. Les explains that the rewards for laboring in this life will be compensated then with activity and responsibility when God sets up His kingdom on earth. He also points to Revelation 20:4, where thrones are set, judgment (meaning rule) is given to those seated, and the martyrs who did not worship the beast live and reign with Christ a thousand years.
