How will God destroy His enemies according to Hebrews 4:12?

God will destroy and defeat His enemies with the spoken Word, which is sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). He created the universe by His spoken Word, does everything by it, and will speak the Word so it is done.

Les teaches that Hebrews 4:12 presents the Word of God as sharper than any two-edged sword, and that this is the means by which He will destroy and defeat His enemies—the spoken Word. He notes that the same spoken Word created the universe, and God does everything by the spoken Word. When He speaks the Word, it is done. In the surrounding context, the scavenger birds are filled with the flesh of the armies gathered in the areas of Jerusalem. The next chapter then moves to the angel coming down with the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain, and Satan is bound a thousand years. Les is a literalist, taking the thousand-year binding exactly as stated.

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
