How does God treat His enemies?

God does not stop loving His enemies. He keeps pouring out His grace upon them and offering them salvation. Though they are enemies and aliens, He provides reconciliation through the cross, making it available to the whole human race; when we were enemies, we were reconciled by the death of His Son.

Les teaches that lost people are not under God's control; they are enemies and aliens. Yet God does not stop loving His enemies—He keeps pouring out His grace upon them and offering them salvation. He cites Romans 5:10: "for if when we were enemies we were reconciled." Reconciliation is a crucial term in Paul's letters: the work of the cross has made it not just possible but available to the whole human race. If we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Christ had to die and shed His blood for sin, but He arose victorious over sin, death, and hell, and that victory is imputed to believers, giving salvation for this life and all eternity.
