How does God destroy the armies gathered at Armageddon?

At Armageddon, God destroys the assembled armies in the land of Israel with a tremendous hailstorm of hundred-pound hailstones. Scripture likens it to grapes in a wine vat, with a resulting river of blood and water running as deep as bridles and horses’ bits.

Les teaches that the world’s armies gather into the land of Israel at Armageddon, primarily in the valley of Megiddo, and Satan thinks he can finally get rid of the Jewish problem, not realizing it will become the final battle between himself and Almighty God. Les explains that God destroys all these accumulated armies in Israel with a tremendous hailstorm of hundred-pound hailstones. Scripture likens this to bringing grapes into a wine vat: just as a person walking in the wine vat is splattered with grape juice, so God brings the nations’ armies to the Middle East, packs them in Megiddo, and destroys them. This is accompanied by a river of blood and water running as deep as the bridles and horses’ bits.
