Will God ever give up on Israel?
No. Scripture shows God promised from day one that He would not give up on Israel. Though Israel rejected Messiah and suffered dispersion, ghettos, and holocaust, God will one day bring them back to the land and fulfill all promises made to their forefathers. Paul defends that they will not be completely annihilated.
Les teaches that God will not permanently cast off Israel. The context explains that although Israel rejected their Messiah and therefore lost their temple, land, and were dispersed into ghettos and through the holocaust, God had promised from day one that He would not give up on them. One day He will bring them back to the land and fulfill all the promises He made to their forefathers. In Romans chapter 11, Paul has a heart for Israel but is the apostle to the Gentiles. Yet Paul defends the nation of Israel, showing in verse 11 that they are not going to be completely annihilated.
