Will God ever forget or give up on His covenant people Israel?

No. God will never lose sight of His covenant people. Israel's seed and name remain before the Lord, and Israel will never pass off the scene. Even in the new heavens and new earth and the eternal state, Israel retains a unique position as the apple of God's eye.

Les teaches that Isaiah's promise of new heavens and a new earth points to the same event as Revelation 21 and 22. Even after the millennial reign, and even after the total destruction of the whole universe, God will create a new heavens and a new earth. In that eternal state, Israel will still be the apple of God's eye and hold a unique position; their seed and name remain before the Lord. Les notes that members of the body of Christ are in an even better position than Israel, yet Scripture constantly refers to Israel's position because the world, under satanic pressure, tries to put Israel out of the picture. They may ignore the covenant promises and ignore Israel, but God will never lose sight of His covenant people. The context then turns back to Romans, where glory is part of Israel's heritage and uniqueness.
