Les Feldick Bible Study

How did Rome treat the conquered people and lower classes, according to Les?

The Roman Empire had no concern for the lower classes or for conquered peoples it had overrun militarily. It threw them to the lions and thought nothing of it. Though noble in some aspects, Rome became grossly immoral, morally deteriorated, and left with no moral compunctions.

Les explains that the Roman Empire is pictured in Daniel 7 as the fourth dreadful and terrible beast—noble in some aspects but bestial in many others. He says Rome had no concern for the lower classes and no concern for the peoples it had overrun militarily; it threw them to the lions and thought nothing of it. Les adds that with all its pomp, success, and circumstance, Rome became grossly immoral and literally deteriorated morally, with absolutely no moral compunctions left—wicked and evil.
