Why are the terrible end-time warnings described in the Bible?
These warnings are given so that fear may prompt people to seek God’s saving grace and escape the awful days coming upon the earth. Scripture makes plain that terrible times are ahead, but salvation is available; therefore, no one should foolishly spurn so great a salvation.
Les teaches that as we look at the awful things about to come upon the earth, there is nothing wrong with the whole concept of literally being scared out of our boots. Maybe fear will prompt someone to seek God’s saving grace in order to escape some of these things. He thinks that is one reason it is put in here. Les says he is not one to embellish the fear concept, but when Scripture makes it so plain that these awful, terrible days are coming on the earth, and we can escape it by simply partaking of God’s salvation, then why not? Why be foolish and spurn so great a salvation only to end up in the horrors that are coming on the earth? And they are coming; the world is getting ready for it, and we see little tidbits here and there of just what it will be like.
