Why will God's wrath be so tremendous at the end of the tribulation?
God's wrath is tremendous because the end-time system deceives all nations through sorceries—Greek pharmakia, meaning drugs—and because it is guilty of the blood of prophets, saints, and all slain on earth. For centuries it persecuted, martyred, and murdered God's people, from ancient Babylon onward.
Les explains that Revelation 18:23 points to a tremendous drug culture throughout the tribulation. The word "sorceries" comes from the Greek word pharmakia, which refers to drugs, and by these drugs all nations were deceived. Then Revelation 18:24 gives another reason God's wrath is so tremendous: this world system, for the last 2,000 years—and even going back 2,600 years to the great empire of Babylon—has persecuted, martyred, and murdered God's people. In that great system was found the blood of prophets, of saints, believers of the New Testament age, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
