Why should Christians study end-time teachings?
End-time teachings matter because Paul taught new converts about the close of the church age, and believers now live in that period. Scripture study identifies what to look for, confirms current headlines match God's Word, and enables the wise to understand, since God follows His own timetable.
Les explains that Paul, around 55 A.D., took time with new converts out of paganism to teach them things concerning the end of the church age; therefore, believers actually living in that period need to know these things. He stresses that Christians must know what Scripture teaches so they know what to look for. Daniel says the wicked do wickedly, but the wise understand. Les also recalls a gentleman led to the Lord a few years earlier who, once he gained insight into the Word, especially end-time things, saw every headline and news item confirming that the book is true and coming as God said. In verse 6, Les teaches two personalities are involved: one withholds so the other is revealed in his time, not ahead of it, because God is a stickler for His own timetable. For over 1900 years God's time clock has stopped, but when the church is taken out, it kicks back in gear and runs on schedule.
