Are wars and rumors of wars the end times?
Jesus says wars and rumors of wars must come to pass, but He explicitly states this is not yet the end. In Matthew 24, these events belong to the seven-year tribulation period, paralleling Revelation 6, yet they are not the final end.
Les explains that Matthew 24 is a chapter totally dealing with the tribulation. The disciples came privately to Jesus and asked when these things would be, and what would be the sign of His coming and the end of the age. Jesus then describes this seven-year period. In verse 6, He says they will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but be not troubled, for all these things must come to pass; this isn't the end yet. Les also sees a direct parallel with Revelation chapter 6. Verse 7's nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom he connects to the red horse, while the white horse is the appearance of the Antichrist.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
