What does Jesus say about wars and rumors of wars in Matthew 24:6?

Jesus says in Matthew 24:6 that you will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but you are not to be troubled, because all these things must come to pass. However, this is not yet the end of that tribulation period.

Les explains that Matthew 24 is a chapter totally dealing with the tribulation, a seven-year period. The disciples came to Jesus privately, asking when these things would be and what would be the sign of His coming and the end of the age. Jesus then begins a discourse describing that period, with parallels to Revelation 6. Before verse 6, He mentions many coming in His name saying “I am the Christ” and deceiving many—the Antichrist. In verse 6, Jesus says you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see that you be not troubled, for all these things must come to pass; yet this isn’t the end yet. Verse 7 then speaks of nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom, which Les connects with the red horse.

Matthew 24:6
