What happened to Jerusalem and Israel in A.D. 70?

In A.D. 70, Titus destroyed the temple in Jerusalem and the city, and Israel was sent into her dispersion. This came at the end of the book of Acts period, about forty years after the crucifixion. Dispersed among the Gentiles, Israel became like corpses in the Gentile world.

Les teaches that the book of Acts covers about forty years and takes us up to A.D. 70. At that point Titus destroyed the temple in Jerusalem and the city, and Israel was sent into her dispersion. Les likens this to Ezekiel 37, where dispersed Israel became just like corpses out in the Gentile world. He explains that God did not give up on Israel; Romans 11 says they did not fall out of God's program but were set aside while God turned to the Gentiles, and by their fall salvation came to the Gentiles. After Israel's dispersion, Les places the next period as totally out of a time frame, since Old Testament prophecy concerning Israel was always given within a time frame, such as the 490 years determined upon Israel.
