What did God do to Israel, the temple, and Jerusalem in 70 A.D.?
In 70 A.D., God sovereignly permitted the Roman army under Titus to destroy the temple and Jerusalem and to uproot the Jews from the Promised Land into a dispersion that continues to this day. This judgment came because Israel rejected the promises, their Messiah, and their King.
Les explains that after the crucifixion and Pentecost, Israel continued to reject the Old Testament promises of the King and the Kingdom and her role as evangelist to the pagan world. Spiritually she went down the tube, and finally in 70 A.D., 40 years after Pentecost or the crucifixion, God sovereignly permitted the Roman army under Titus to destroy the temple, the city of Jerusalem, and uproot the Jew out of the Promised Land into the dispersion that carries on to our very day. It was all because they rejected the promises, their Messiah, and their King. God dispersed them, took away their temple, took away their religion, and turned to the Gentile with the Age of Grace.
