Are we under the law or under grace?
Believers today are not under the law; they are under grace. Grace is God's attribute that pours out undeserved favor and mercy on sinners because of the love poured out at the cross. Paul insists that if righteousness came by law, Christ died in vain.
Les explains that God does not expect us never to fall, and when we do, He is ready to pick us up and put us on our way. That is the grace of God, though most people have a different concept of it. Les emphasizes that today we are not under the law but under grace. Grace is that attribute of God capable of pouring out undeserved favor and mercy on sinners like us, sons of Adam, all because of the love poured out at the cross. Paul says he does not frustrate the grace of God, for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
