What did human history suggest should have happened to Israel?
From a human standpoint, Israel should have been completely obliterated and totally assimilated into the various nationalities of the world. A nation as tiny as Israel, subjugated by Gentile enemies and scattered since 70 A.D., had no way to come back on the scene.
Les explains that from 70 A.D., when Titus destroyed the city and temple, the Jews were scattered throughout the then-known world and have been scattering ever since. From a human standpoint, the normal answer to whether these dry bones could live was “No way.” A nation as tiny as Israel, completely subjugated by her Gentile enemies, should have been completely obliterated and totally assimilated into the various nationalities of the world. But they haven’t been. They maintained their identity, and in our day they have gone back to their land. Les also points out another miracle: the Hebrew language was dead for hundreds of years, but Zionists required people to learn and speak it again, so today billboards and highway signs in Israel are Hebrew and English. He says the Jew is living proof that the Bible is supernatural and the Word of God.
