Why do we teach prophecy?

Prophecy is taught to demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Bible is the Word of God. No other book makes such prophetic statements centuries in advance, and fulfilled prophecy confirms Scripture's divine authority. The same God who fulfilled the first ninety percent will complete the remaining ten percent.

Les teaches that the reason for teaching prophecy is to show beyond a shadow of a doubt that this book is the Word of God. Unlike the Koran, the Book of Mormon, or any other claimed guideline for doctrine, the Bible alone makes prophetic statements hundreds, even thousands, of years before they happen. They all come true, and what has not yet come true will come true. Since prophecy has been fulfilled to the last jot and tittle, as much of the Old Testament already has been, there is no reason to doubt that the rest will be fulfilled. The same God who fulfilled the first ninety percent of prophecy is the God who will finish the last ten percent.
