How does the false prophet counterfeit the Holy Spirit's work?
The false prophet counterfeits the Holy Spirit by mimicking His work within a counterfeit trinity: he performs great wonders, calls fire down from heaven, and uses miracles to deceive earth's inhabitants, drawing them to worship the Antichrist instead of God the Son.
Les explains that Revelation presents a counterfeit trinity: Satan counterfeits God the Father, the Antichrist counterfeits God the Son, and the false prophet—this religious leader—counterfeits the Holy Spirit. Just as the genuine Holy Spirit draws people to God the Son, this counterfeit causes people to worship the Antichrist, the counterfeit son. The false prophet does much of what the Holy Spirit does legitimately, performing great wonders and making fire come down from heaven in the sight of men. But since he is a counterfeit, unlike the Holy Spirit who will never deceive, he deceives earth's inhabitants by the miracles he had power to do.
