Believers should pray extra hard because prophecy shows we are in the final days and hours of this age, and the world system is preparing for the man of sin, the Antichrist. God has left the timing responsibility with born-again believers, so their prayers help keep that timing on track.
Les teaches that another reason believers should be praying extra hard is that, if we know anything about prophecy, we are quite sure we are in the final days and hours of this age. The whole world's system is getting ready for the man of sin, the man Antichrist. Yet God has left the responsibility to keep the timing aspect on track, and Les thinks He leaves it with born-again believers. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3, Paul says that day shall not come except there come a falling away first—an apostasy, or also a departure of the saints—so the Antichrist is not going to appear before the church is gone. Paul describes the man of sin as opposing and exalting himself above all that is called God or worshipped, sitting in the temple of God and showing himself that he is God.
