Why should Christians be praying extra hard in these last days?
Christians should pray extra hard because prophecy places us in the final days and hours of this age, while the world system is preparing for the man of sin, the Antichrist. Born-again believers are left with a timing responsibility so that the Antichrist does not appear before the church is gone and it is time.
Les explains that this is another reason believers should pray extra hard: prophecy shows we are in the final days and hours of this age, and the world's system is getting ready for the man of sin, the Antichrist. He turns to 2 Thessalonians 2:3, where Paul tells the persecuted Thessalonians not to be deceived: that day will not come except there come a falling away first—an apostasy, or a departure of the saints. In other words, the Antichrist will not appear before the church is gone. Les says God has left the timing aspect with born-again believers so that the man of sin does not come on the scene before it is time. Paul then describes him as opposing and exalting himself above all that is called God, sitting in the temple of God and showing himself to be God. Les also reminds believers to pray without ceasing, bringing supplications, desires, praise, and thanksgiving.
