How does praying about everything give us the peace of God?

Praying about everything means bringing all concerns into God’s throne room and leaving them there. The believer then comes away daily knowing the peace of God that passes all understanding, a peace beyond human concept that keeps the heart and mind balanced even amid adverse circumstances.

Les explains that the believer first made peace with God at salvation, when the sinner separated from God was reconciled through the work of the cross. Then, in the Christian life, there can be outpourings of the peace of God. As we pray and leave everything in the throne room of heaven, we can come away every day knowing the peace of God which passeth all understanding. It is beyond human concept, and only the believer understands it. That peace keeps our hearts and minds—our whole mental health—in balance even when we go through adverse circumstances, because God gives the assurance of His peace.

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
