What does God promise when we pray about everything?

When believers pray and leave everything in the throne room of heaven, God promises the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding. That peace will keep their hearts and minds—their whole mental health—in balance, even though they may go through adverse circumstances.

Les teaches that the peace of God is distinct from making peace with God. A believer made peace with God the moment of salvation—reconciliation through the work of the cross—so there is no longer enmity, and the believer is now God's child. Then, as one walks the Christian life, there can be outpourings of the peace of God. It never leaves us, but can be more at some times than others, like the filling of the Spirit. As we pray and leave everything in the throne room of heaven, we can come away every day knowing the peace of God which passes all understanding. It is beyond human concept, and only the believer understands what it is. That peace keeps our hearts and minds—our whole mental health—even in adverse circumstances, in balance with the assurance God has given us.
