Is the world preparing to accept a strong, charismatic leader?

The world is preparing to accept a strong, charismatic leader. People would fall on their knees and kiss his feet if he seemed to have all the answers. Interviewed German youth said they would follow such a leader in a minute.

Les explains that the world is getting ready for a leader who could combine the diplomacy of a Henry Kissinger, the economic smarts of a Milton Friedman, and other attributes rolled into one. If such a figure seemed to have all the answers, people would fall on their knees and kiss his feet. He points to a news commentary interviewing German youth in demonstrations; one said that if a man could come on the scene as a leader, they would follow him in a minute. Les ties this readiness to the iron and clay toes of the Western Europe Consortium of Nations. Using the illustration of cement mixed with just any gravel, he says it crumbles because it cannot cleave, just as Europe is divided by centuries of deep hatreds—Germans hate the French, Spaniards hate Italians, and so forth.
