Les Feldick Bible Study

If a leader with public charisma, diplomatic skill, and economic intelligence appeared on the scene, how would people respond?

They would fall on their knees and kiss his feet in a minute. If such a man came on the scene with all these attributes rolled into one and seemed to have all the answers to their problems, people would follow him immediately.

Les explains that if a leader could come on the scene with the attributes of a Kennedy, the diplomacy of a Henry Kissinger, and the economic smarts of a Milton Friedman all rolled into one, and seemingly have all the answers to people's problems, they would fall on their knees and kiss his feet in a minute. He notes a news commentary interviewing German youth at demonstrations; one said that if a man could come on the scene who would be a leader, they would follow him in a minute. Les concludes the world is getting ready for that. He ties it to the iron and clay toes of the Western Europe Consortium of Nations, comparing iron mixed with clay to farmers' cement mixed with any gravel, which crumbles because it cannot cleave. He says that is how Europe is tonight: nations with deep, centuries-old hatreds—Germans hating the French, French hating others, Spaniards hating Italians—so the mixture is unstable.
