Les Feldick Bible Study

Why did Les say the chief rabbi's expected Messiah is the Antichrist?

The chief rabbi described Israel's expected Messiah as a man with political clout and military power who would set Israel up, destroy enemies, and bring world peace. That is a perfect description of the Antichrist, even though the rabbi thought he was describing Israel's Messiah.

Les explains that Jewish scholars study the Torah but do not know God. He cites a Jerusalem Post clipping written by one of the chief rabbis in Israel. The rabbi said Israel is aware it is about time for their Messiah's coming, and described that Messiah as a man who will come with political clout, military power behind him, and the ability to set Israel up, destroy her enemies, and from that power base bring peace to the whole world. Les says those who know the Bible recognize that this is the Antichrist, a perfect description of him. The rabbi was not thinking in terms of the Antichrist but in terms of Israel's Messiah. Les calls this the wisdom of this world, contrasting it with the wisdom of God received through the foolishness of preaching, faith plus nothing.
