When will the Antichrist be revealed according to Les?
The Antichrist will be revealed after the Holy Spirit, who restrains iniquity like a dam, is taken out of the way. That removal begins the seven-year period, during which the Antichrist operates until the Lord consumes him at His coming.
Les explains that the Holy Spirit dwelling in believers acts like a dam holding back a flood of iniquity. When He is taken out of the way, the wicked one—the Antichrist—is revealed. The comma in verse 8 skips ahead seven years to the end, when the Lord will consume him with the spirit of His mouth and destroy him with the brightness of His coming. So the Antichrist will have seven years before he meets his doom. Les then wanted to go back to Daniel 9 to validate this seven-year period as future for the planet, though believers will be gone.
