What happens to someone when they are brought into the body of Christ?
When brought into the body of Christ, a person is bought out of the slave market of sin, cleansed, given new clothes, and brought into a villa. Made near by the blood of Christ, they become part of the bride who prepares herself for the groom, Christ, who will call His bride to Himself.
Les teaches that being brought into the body of Christ is the result of God's tremendous salvation and His plan of redemption. The believer has been bought out of the slave market of sin, cleaned, given a new set of clothes, and brought into a villa, and now wants to serve Him. Paul constantly brings everything back to the work of the cross: those once far off from God and from a spiritual relationship with Him are made nigh by the blood of Christ. Gentiles are brought into the body and become part of the bride. The bride is preparing herself for the groom, Christ, who will call the bride to Himself. Les also points to Isaac, who went partway to meet the bride, took her back home, consummated the marriage, and loved her—a picture of the setting when Christ gets ready to call His bride home.
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
