What happens to people when they are in Christ Jesus?
When in Christ Jesus, a person is placed into the body of Christ through God's salvation and redemption. They are bought out of the slave market of sin, cleansed, given new clothes, brought into a villa, and made near to God by the blood of Christ. They become part of the bride whom Christ will call to Himself.
Les teaches that when a person is in Christ Jesus, they are in the body of Christ as a result of God's tremendous salvation and plan of redemption. They have been bought out of the slave market of sin, cleaned, given a new set of clothes, and brought into a villa, and now they want to serve Him. Those once far off from God and from a spiritual relationship with Him are made nigh by the blood of Christ. Paul constantly brings everything back to the work of the cross. Gentiles have been brought into the body and are part of the bride. The bride is preparing herself for the groom, Christ, who will call the bride to Himself. Les also reminds us of Isaac, who went partway to meet the bride, took her home, consummated the marriage, and loved her—a picture of the setting when Christ gets ready to call His bride home.
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
