What happens to a person who is in Christ?

Scripture teaches that anyone in Christ is a new creation: old things are passed away, and behold, all things are become new. This new creation results from the salvation experience and from all God has done on the believer's behalf. God reconciles that person to Himself by Jesus Christ and gives the ministry of reconciliation.

Les explains that this transformation is not about cashing in on this world's promises. It is the result of the salvation experience and all that God has done on our behalf. In 2 Corinthians 5:17-18, the believer in Christ becomes a new creation; old things pass away, and all things become new. All things are of God, who reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ. Les notes that nothing can touch you unless God permits it, and God did not stop at reconciliation—He gave us the ministry of reconciliation. This fits the believer's position as a citizen of Heaven living on earth, an ambassador.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
