Les Feldick Bible Study

How was the world different for Noah and his sons after the Flood?

After the Flood, Noah and his sons entered a totally different world: atmospheric conditions changed, God allowed them to kill animals and eat flesh, and He instructed them to set up human government to maintain law and order, responsibilities they did not have before.

Les explains that just as Adam and Eve faced a totally different situation after leaving the garden, Noah and his three sons came out of the ark into another totally different set of circumstances. There was a whole new set of atmospheric conditions. They were now given permission to kill animals and eat their flesh, something they could not do before. Noah and his sons were also instructed to set up a human government to maintain law and order, which mankind had not had before. Les emphasizes that these were new responsibilities God was laying on the human race. Later, about 175 years after the flood, instead of scattering across the earth as God had instructed, the people congregated at the Tower of Babel in total rebellion, and God scattered them by confusing their languages.
