What did Job expect as his hope?

Job expected his Redeemer to live and in the latter days stand upon the earth. He did not expect to see Him in heaven but in his flesh to see God. This hope was earthly, aligned with Israel's promises, not a heavenly expectation.

Les explains that Job's hope was not dying and going to heaven, because the Jew knew nothing of that. Job declared that his Redeemer lives and would stand on the earth in the latter days, and that in his flesh he would see God. Les points out this matches Israel's earthly promises, their Temple in Jerusalem, and the earthly focus of the Old Testament and early Acts. The Body of Christ, by contrast, is connected to the Jerusalem which is in heaven.
