Where is the kingdom of the Son, and what does that mean for where our base of operations is?
The kingdom of the Son is in heaven. Because believers have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into that kingdom, their base of operations is heavenly, not earthly. The head of the body is in heaven, and believers are citizens there.
Les explains that the kingdom of the Son is heavenly, not earthly, contrasting the earthly Jerusalem with the Jerusalem which is above. Paul writes in Colossians 1:12–13 that the Father has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Since that kingdom is in heaven, believers now have a heavenly base of operations. The head of the body is in heaven, and we are citizens. Les then directs attention to Philippians chapter 3.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
What is the current location and nature of the kingdom that believers are in?
For Grace Age believers, the kingdom they are currently in is a spiritual kingdom, and their citizenship is in Heaven. They have been translated into the Kingdom of His dear Son, which is presently located in Heaven, awaiting the future visible, governmental kingdom when He becomes King of Kings.
Where is the kingdom of God's dear Son right now?
Scripture teaches that God the Father has delivered believers from the power of darkness and translated them into the kingdom of His dear Son, and that kingdom is presently in Heaven. This heavenly connection marks believers as a heavenly people with heavenly promises, distinct from Israel's earthly program.
