What does Psalm 2:6 mean and where will the Kingdom be centered?
Psalm 2:6 declares that God has set His King upon His holy hill of Zion, introducing the Kingdom after the tribulation. The Kingdom will be centered in Jerusalem, where Zion is, and it fulfills the promised government God will establish through His King.
Les explains that Psalm 2 lays out prophecy: verse 2 shows the rejection of the Messiah, verse 5 speaks of wrath and sore displeasure, which is the tribulation, and verse 6 brings in the Kingdom. God says, "yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion." Les teaches that this Kingdom will be centered in Jerusalem, because Zion is there. The context also shows the Kingdom idea has been on God's mind from the onset of Scripture, especially after Abraham, when God promised Israel a special nation, a geographical land, and at the appropriate time would be their King or set up the government.
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
