Who initiates the action in the believer's life after believing faith?
After believing faith, God is the one who initiates and precipitates the action in the believer’s life. He does not require people to work, attempt, or keep commandments to start it. Instead, God sends forth the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of His Son, into the believer’s heart, crying, “Abba, Father.”
Les teaches that Israel at the Red Sea illustrates this: with the Egyptian army behind them and the sea in front, God did not tell them to build rafts or perform rituals; He said, “Stand still,” do nothing, and wait for the power of God. Then the Red Sea opened and He led them through. Les says it is the same today. People work and attempt and want to keep commandments and do, do, do, but God keeps saying, stand still, don’t do anything, but believe that it has all been done. So after believing faith, because of the believer’s position, God is the one who precipitates the action. God has sent forth the Spirit, the Holy Spirit of promise, the Spirit of His Son into the believer’s heart, not into a denomination or church building. The Spirit is in every believer’s heart, crying, “Abba, Father.”
