What does God do in believers immediately after salvation?
Immediately after salvation, God sends the Spirit of His Son into the believer’s heart. The indwelling Holy Spirit then leads and guides the believer, giving every right to approach God as Father and call Him Abba, Father. This standing rests on the finished work of the cross, not human merit.
Les explains that because believers are now born ones by salvation, God immediately does the doing by sending the Spirit of His Son into their hearts. Through that Spirit’s leading and guiding, they have the right to call God Abba, Father. They can come into the throne room as believers, not on their own merit but because of the finished work of the cross. Les also notes that in this position they are no longer servants or slaves but full-blown sons in partnership with the Father.
